Conclusion

This project doesnt end here . We have to create a great awareness across our society as to how wildlife conservation is need for the hour . As we are seeing recent attacks by wild elephants near Tumkur , Karnataka and attack by tiger near chikmagalur. All this are happening because of the imbalance created by humans in nature. We should realize that earth is a place to live in for all of us  if there is little of imbalance then we have to face consequences in future. Let us all pledge that we will create awareness among ourselves about wildlife conservation. We have various options to conserve our wildlife. First of all creating awarenesss among ourselves , saving our forests , using eco friendly things, preserving the natural habitats for wildlife ,adopting animals in zoo and national parks etc. Our next step will be doing an animal census in collaboration with aranya bhavan Bangalore. Thanks for spending some time in reading our blog. Please feel free to post comments about our small work on "CONSERVATION OF WILDLIFE"

Making of Albums

We also wanted children to know about the work done by various people who raised awareness about environmental protection like Saalumarada Thimakka, Suresh Heblikar etc. So we asked students to collect information about them and to make an album on them. It was a very interesting activity all together.

Its time to wear a Mask and run for Wildlife............

We wanted to involve more students in wildlife conservation project .So we decided celebrate wildlife week by executing various activities . Students of Grade V to VII were asked to make their own Animal Masks which they did colourfully . These masks were used by Nursery students for wildlife race. The primary children of grade I looked very cute wearing those masks. There was one more activity of creating your own imaginary animal. Children were made to imagine their own animals and to draw them according to their imagination . We could not believe the huge response we got from students in this activity.  Children were also encouraged to make their own bookmarks. This was done to inculcate reading habit in them.

Speak for the ones without a voice...!

It was real action time now . We wanted students to know the ways to protect wildlife. So we asked them to make a Powerpoint Presenation on  the legal provision to conserve wildlife at national level. As expected they gave an awesome talk not only on legal rules on wildlife in India but also outside India like UK , Africa. Guess who were the judges ? Luckily we had three foreign visitors from Sweden, Germany and Europe. So this activity gave an International touch to our student's work.

Its time to count...................

We knew the endangered and existing species now . It was time for the Maths teacher to teach Statistics to our students . So we asked students to collect data on the count of existing species across the world. It was a tough job both for teachers and students . But we did it ! I am very proud to say our students with the help of teachers did colourful graphs on the count of exisitng species.  So Mathematics project was executed very well .We are really thankful to Ms.Rekha , Ms.Valli , Ms.Bharthi and Ms.Sreeja for helping students.

Lets make a Poster...............

After showing the documentary , it was time to make them realize that the need for the hour is to save endangered species . So we asked them to make posters of endangered animals of different countries all over the world . And their work was marvellous . They were becoming more and more enthusiastic day by day as we executed this project .

Documentary on causes and effects of hunting

As a part of wildlife conservation , we wanted students to get awareness about causes and effects of hunting. So we showed few clippings of hunting in olden days and also in present days. The students remembered their interaction with RFO who explained about Empty Forest Syndrome which is nothing but disturbance in the food chain because of which animals like tiger becomes Man Eater. They realized no animal becomes Man Eater unless they are disturbed . Thus they got to know that they should save forest and wildlife for the future generation and shouted the slogan.
"SAVE THEM BEFORE THEY PERISH"

Making of clay models of national parks

After visiting the Bannerghatta National Park and getting some knowledge about the flora and fauna of Bannerghatta, we asked students to make clay models of national park. The students were excited and brought clay , paint , brush , thermocole sheet .They enjoyed making their own clay animals and also used tree cuts and artificial trees to give a green effect . It reflected their imagination and their talent in art. It was a splendid work.

Field trip to Bannerghatta National Park

We went to a field trip to Bannerghatta National Park which is just 22 km south of Bangalore. It is home of several species of animals and has some spectacular vegetation - housing shrubs, herbs, trees. The best part is the grand safari where we were taken through various territories of different animals which facilitated study of flora and fauna of the region. The students were very excited to see deer, bear, elephant herd, royal bengal tiger, lion posing to the camera. They took notes as they had to submit report after the field trip. Later wildlife conservation became a conversation as we got an opportunity to interact with the Range Forest Officer. The students were popping out questions and he answered all of them patiently and encouraged students to create awareness on wildlife conservation.

Save wildlife before they go extinct

We had a  thrilling and adventurous experience as we worked on  our project "CONSERVATION OF WILDLIFE" by having a good conversation with my students in Bangalore International Public School. Thanks a lot to our School Management , our Co ordinator Anthony Sir and our Project Head Ms. Shubha Ma'am  who recognized my talent and gave me this opportunity to work on this project along with the students. As we went through this, we observed the enthusiasm and excitement of children while doing every activity. We also started becoming more enthusiastic as we explored different wildlife habitats to collect data for our project and making children aware of the importance of conserving wildlife for future generation. This project not only made students aware of the animals as well as to think about what they could do  to make the world a better place to live in.The work can be hard, but knowing that we have directly contributed to the survival of countless wild animals will last the rest of our lives.
